FAQ

Everything you need to know about participating and winning.

How do I participate?+

Write a blog post about decentralized AI and submit it to HackerNoon with the #DecentralizeAI tag. You can use our blog generator tool to help you craft your post, or write from scratch.

Who can participate?+

Anyone! Developers, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, policy makers—if you have insights about decentralized AI, we want to hear from you.

When are winners announced?+

Winners are announced monthly throughout 2026. Each month, judges review submissions and select the best posts across different categories.

What topics are eligible?+

Any topic related to decentralized AI: open-source models, distributed compute, data sovereignty, federated learning, blockchain + AI, privacy-preserving ML, AI governance, and more.

How are posts judged?+

Posts are evaluated on technical depth, originality, impact, evidence/research, and writing quality. We're looking for well-researched, actionable insights that push the conversation forward.

Can I submit multiple posts?+

Yes! You can submit as many posts as you want. Each submission is judged independently, so more quality posts = more chances to win.

Do I need to use the blog generator?+

No, the generator is optional. It's designed to help you structure your ideas and get started quickly, but you can write and submit posts however you prefer.

What makes a winning post?+

Winning posts typically: (1) Address real problems with specific solutions, (2) Cite research and provide evidence, (3) Offer unique perspectives, (4) Include actionable next steps, and (5) Are well-written and engaging.

Who are the judges?+

Our panel includes experts from the decentralized AI community: founders, researchers, investors, and technical leaders. See the Judges page for details.

How do I claim prizes?+

Winners are contacted via the email associated with their HackerNoon account. Make sure your profile is up to date!

Can I write about my own project?+

Yes, but make it educational and valuable for readers. Focus on technical insights, lessons learned, and broader implications rather than just promotion.

Is there a word limit?+

HackerNoon recommends 1,500-3,000 words for technical posts. Our blog generator creates posts in this range, but you can adjust as needed.
